I'm back!

I'm going to give this blogging thing another go. I realized I want to have some record of this year for posterity. I realized that my friends have no idea what is going on in my rowing life. Mostly I just realized that I could accumulate millions of followers and generate tons of ad revenue. A few guidelines for myself:

1. Posts will be short. Complex ideas will not be explained.

2. No jokes about how few followers I have. Im in this for the money and I won't be satisfied until every computer-owning person in china has my blog as their homepage.

3. Complaints about my life and about rowing will be minimized. Most office workers would have a hernia just thinking about a life composed of working out, eating as much as they want, and playing video games*.

4. Blogging time per day will be restricted to the amount of time it takes to row 2000 meters** (approximately 160 feet).

5. The motto of this blog is: Certitude and correctness are the same thing. While in my view this motto is self-justifying, for my ordinary readers I diverge from my recently cognominated motto to explain; when one is certain, it is unnecessary to suffer misgivings about correctness, about justification, about proper definition of words, and really about anything except how to adequately illuminate the products of one's intellect to one's ordinary readers.

*this in no way references the highly structured and disciplined life of an Olympic athlete. The lives of Olympic athletes are a strict regimen of training, dietary supplementation, and AER (active entertainment recovery)!

**"meters" references an obscure measurement technique employed by Europeans before the invention of the foot, mile, and standardized imperial units.
