nothing is for certain...

...but things are looking good.  Topher, the coach from Dartmouth, announced that the boat would probably be decided by a week from today.  He also said "we are really going to put the pedal to the metal in the coming days".  Blaarg. As if we weren't doing that already.  This morning we did 3x1500m @34.  It didn't hurt as much as I thought it would.  Part of this is probably because none of the pieces were close. I was in 5 seat of the winning boat, which had the wisconsin stern 3.  It would seem that they are going to be the stern of the boat, unless the tide changes.  The only switches today happened between a Cal guy (Nareg) and a Harvard guy (Henrik).  Henrik won the switching pretty handily, and for the first time I started to believe in the wisconsin guys in the stern.  The boat felt light and quick really for the first time since I have been at camp.  I think seats 5,4,3, are still up for grabs, but it appears that the wisco guys will be in the stern (Grant, Ross, and Derek), and the bow pair will be Charlie (yale), and my Stanford teammate Osborne.  I like all these guys a lot, and I hope I get the opportunity to race and travel with them.
Other than that, there is little to report.  Ive been watching the first 3 seasons of "the Wire" like a fiend.  It really is like nothing else on television, and is the only TV show where I feel smarter after watching it.  We got the afternoon off, so I will probably go grill with the guys again.  I busted out my guitar yesterday, and am having fun messing around.  If youre lucky, I will record something and post it.
quote of the week;  Henrik, on an attractive girl at Harvard: "naw, I couldn't go out with her, she probably only dates guys with 4.0s, my grades arent good enough"
Only at Harvard would that happen.
