Sweatlodge
The excitement about going to the Olympics is still here. I dont think participating in the Olympics is going to get old for a very long long time But, I have noticed a shift in my thinking. The thought is less: "WE'RE GOING TO THE OLYMPICS YAY" but is more "what can we do at the Olympics".
This thinking is primarily manifested in sweat. Literally. It has been in the high nineties for the past week, with the New Jersey humidity, and I don't think I have ever been sweatier in my life. I actually disgust myself sometimes; it feels as though my body is leaking, and every movement pumps more precious water out. At the end of every workout my fingers are pruny, as they would be when you got out of a bath. Even technical rows feel like survival, and workouts feel like not-survival. We are working hard, and have high hopes for our performance at the Olympics.
