the life and times of pocahontas

At times like these, I reflect on the similarities between my life and Pocahontas'.  For the both of us, after exciting and happy lives in America, we traveled to England and got sick and (she) died.  I have got sick again! this time with a strange, mutated hybrid of Tuberculosis, emphezema, and silicosis.  My (apparently) weak American immune system cant handle the more rapacious viruses and bacteria of England.  Ack!
So far I have missed 7 training sessions (5 days), which is incredibly frustrating.  During that time, I have left my room a grand total of 4 times.  Hence, I have been sleeping 14 hours a day, reading every single article on nytimes.com, eating enough for a small village, and reflecting on pocahontas (and reading wikipedia articles about her).   Today I showed up to practice, and tried to inconspicuously sneak into the vans, but my coach spotted me and immediately sent me home.  According to the doctor, the virus will probably run its course in a few days, and I will either be dead as Pocahontas or completely better.  sorry for the rant, but my body doesnt listen to me anymore.
